Australia; A dream land without a dreamer… The continent of Oceania with its vastness and all of the buried wealth still untouched and the huge potentials untapped sits on an empty simmering pot waiting for some serious effort from its politicians to fill in all of the gaps and empty spaces in its political history.
Australia is a truly great country, yet, its policies lack so much in expertise and professionalism especially when it comes to regional foreign and immigration politics in general.
The only reason that drives me to write this article is my hope that it will reach the right people who would be willing to roll it over into the debate corners of those policy makers. Though, I personally doubt there are any foreign policy makers in Australia, there are policy implementers since politics in Australia is engulfed with vague historical attributes to early arbiters stripped naked of any modern perspective to meet the natives and the indigenous dwellers of this fantasy land.
The ethnic factor of Australia is probably the most precious of all assets within its possessions, yet it met the same treatment and mishandling from the foreign policy makers.
So much can be done to place Australia as a major player bridging between third world, Far and Mid. East countries and the western world, in fighting terrorism and extremism there is none more qualified than the Australian reality to tackle this issue so successfully if only policy makers come to terms with local needs and politics.
Australia has so much to offer to the world and so much to gain in return.
To offer: their Commonwealth social system which is the most convenient solution to modern day problems all over the world, the industrialization of their Economy, their Health and Education and last but not least Tourism.
In order to achieve this and sustain its workability Australia needs to have an updated capable foreign policy.
The gains are immense, starting with foreign influence, especially in the regional Far East which is the back yard of Australia, the boosting of Economy and improving the level of interaction within its hybrid ethnic communities, bringing more peace, prosperity and positive involvement from such ethnic groups who concentrate their presence mainly in NSW.
To achieve that, the right place to start from is getting Australian ethnic minorities more directly involved in the debating and shaping of foreign policy, improve immigration policy by making it more realistic, mobilize transmigration within Australia by introducing an incentive plan to develop the outback.
Australian Ethnic minorities face many obstacles and blocks for their attempts to merge with the community that is why an observer finds a phenomenon in the communal structure within the urban areas of Australian major cities such as Sydney, this phenomenon is the gathering and grouping of ethnic minorities in specific neighborhoods which can only indicate to their search for belonging and security.
I wonder if there are any Australian behavioral science researchers carrying any targeted and serious studies of the ethnic minorities and their wows and concerns, and adaptability setback.
I hope Australia will get there someday, and I wish the best for this wonderful country in this all new 2011.
