Nadim Koteich

Nadim Koteich is a sample of Lebanese journalist/political activists who happened to grow weary of the political stalemate of the current situation in Lebanon…

Lebanon is passing through an embryonic revolution since the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and this process is still in its first phase.

Nadim Koteich rebelled against the traditional norms of Lebanese local politics when he hastened to call the demonstrating crowds of General Wissam Al Hassan supporters to march onto the prime ministerial office to state their point in demanding the resignation of the current Prime Minister Mr. Mikati for his failure in providing national security to the nation.

Mr. Mikati is also accused by many as a pro Syrian politician and a caretaker of Syrian interests in Lebanon, but what is our main interest in this article is Mr. Nadim Koteich.

After Nadim’s call to the public to March on, Nadim was brutally criticized by the opposing political alliance, mimicked with intent to burn his cards, bankrupt his career and redicule him in the Lebanese public media…

Is this a premeditated plan to prepare him for a similar fate to Mr. Kassir and other Lebanese journalists, or is he going to end up like another colleague of his Mr. Faris Khashan who cannot even go back to Lebanon for safety concerns…

We hope to see Mr. Koteich and all other journalists working in national and international media receive more sincere support by sympathizers of the cause of freedom of expression and liberty of choice, and we wish them all a safe outcome to their conviction and belief.

As for the supporter of Mr. Koteich, be it politicians or public audience, we would like to see more support for this brilliant and very talented news host and presenter  and hope he will keep his motivational burst ahead towards the ultimate independence of Lebanon and global human right of freedom of expression…

Good Luck Mr. Koteich
